Wood Sourcing

Consumers of West African wood products in the United States and Europe are concerned by environmental impacts, and this is reflected in new legislations relating to importation of wood products - specifically the Lacey Act amendment of 2008 in the United States and Forest Law Enforcement Governance and Trade in Europe.
Together these laws set strict standards for importation of tropical wood and require that handcraft producers take extra steps. This page provides resources for handcraft producers exporting under these legislations.
