Linking businesses to international buyers is key to increasing West African exports. Luckily, events like the Textiles & Apparel Business-to-Business Event in Pretoria, organized by USAID's Southern Africa Global Competitiveness Hub, allow local producers to meet with buying houses and retailers, garment manufacturers, trims and accessories suppliers, and fabric producers. More than 25 meetings were arranged for West African companies at the event, which took place in April. The result was a substantial boost in buyer interest in placing orders with West African exporters.
