In July 2010, UEMOA countries should all start enforcing axleweight limits for trucks. Ghana started this procedure a year earlier. This report describes the Ghanaian experience with limiting weights of trucks in transit to Burkina Faso and may hold lessons for those in other countries about to implement the new regulations.
