The transport sector in West Africa plays an essential role in the economic development of the sub region and generates approximately six percent of its gross domestic product. Reducing transport costs, which are among the highest in the world, will make West African exporters more competitive in world markets. The Trade Hub’s initiatives seek to reduce corruption and delays along primary trade corridors and identify other cost drivers in order to eliminate inefficiency and increase infrastructure investment.
