U.S. President Barack Obama today restored AGOA eligibility to Cote d'Ivoire, Guinea and Niger, extending the law's trade preferences to the countries - and immediately benefiting their economic development prospects.
The USAID West Africa Trade Hub congratulates government officials, exporting companies' managers and others who worked to regain the important benefits that AGOA carries. The law, passed in 2000, has been a powerful incentive for trade and investment, and has stimulated trade across Africa.
The USAID Trade Hub's network of AGOA Resource Centers - managed with host institutions in 15 countries in West Africa - are important resources for entrepreneurs and exporters. The AGOA Resource Centers' website - www.agoatoolkit.com - provides immediate access to thousands of documents on exporting goods to the U.S.
